Hamptons Day Trip
Registration is now open!
Our day will start at 10:30 with a docent-led tour at the architecturally-acclaimed Parrish Art Museum where Chuck Close Photographs and The Permanent Collection. Art. Illuminated are on view.
Following a Dutch-treat lunch at the Museum’s Café we will go, as a group, to Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center. There we will be greeted by Deb Verhoff and Clifford Allen and given an insider’s tour of the Center, its programs, and most especially the Center’s Library and Archives.
In the late afternoon our group will go on to Bridgehampton to visit The Dan Flavin Art Institute, a DIA-supported installation and exhibition space. In addition to the nine works which Flavin installed in 1983, the Institute’s summer exhibition Dan Flavin: Icons is on view.
Bridgehampton’s charming Main Street, with abundant eateries and shops, is around the corner from the Flavin Art Institute and within easy walking distance of the Bridgehampton Long Island Rail Road station and the Bridgehampton Hampton Jitney stop.
The New York Chapter will provide transportation during the day (e.g. between the Parrish Art Museum, the Watermill Center and the Dan Flavin Art Institute) but attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to Southampton and the Parrish Art Museum and from Bridgehampton. The day’s itinerary has been planned with the Long Island Rail Road and the Hampton Jitney schedules in mind. (Please note that the Hampton Jitney requires advance reservations.)
This trip is limited to 15 participants. The cost of the trip is $50.00 per person. All proceeds benefit the programs, events, and awards of ARLIS/NA New York. No exchanges or refunds. If you have questions or concerns please contact Janis Ekdahl (firstname.lastname@example.org)
